Three books are vying for my attention. Last month, I joined a book club, and our selection was Lisa Wingate’s Women’s Christian Fiction “The Prayer Box.” Having read the first chapter, I can tell that I’ll become accustomed to her storytelling. Anticipation for the second chapter is high, especially after the eerie discovery in chapter one.

In addition to the novel I previously mentioned, I’ll be alternating between two others: Holly Jackson’s Young Adult Mystery Thriller “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” and Jayne Allen’s Black & African American Women’s Fiction “Black Girls Must Die Exhausted.”

Interestingly, each of these books is the first installment in a series.

Wish me luck, as I’m diving headfirst into a sea of books to make up for all the months this year that I did not read novels.

I will share each book’s description and my personal take on the two I haven’t mentioned yet.

Choose a book that resonates with you and watch as the pages turn themselves. đź“–
