I almost died

But

I am here to write about it

What a blessing

It was the first time

I accepted death

What a blessing

It was not my time

He told me

Someone else was not so lucky

I did not press it

My mindset has shifted

Since the passing of

So many loved ones

They say that

Every day is not promised

But

It is a gift and a blessing

Whenever it comes

Life revealed to me that

Every second is not promised

Because you can be

Good for one second

And gone

The next second

Check on your loved ones

Before they are long gone

Acceptance has kept me

Grounded

My near-death experience

Showed me just how much
