First and foremost, thank you for sharing your honest feelings about living with ADHD.
I'm neurodivergent and I suspect that I have ADHD. I'm also a Black woman. Therefore, I'm all too familiar with feeling out of place (unsupported).
I have never been fond of the 'high functioning' terminology (it’s ableist) because I've always felt debilitated in certain areas, like yourself. Therefore, I had to mask and get creative. I'm no longer in the place to mask - I want to be accepted for who I am as a whole person. Neurotypicals can learn so much from neurodivergents:
We live in a neurodiverse world where we're all needed! Our world would be so much different had we all been neurotypicals. I love how you've highlighted our strengths. I'm hopeful that people will be more accepting of us as we share our experiences.
