I’m not all that conventional when it comes to writing — This story is not so much ‘about me,’ but my thoughts on ‘About Me’ stories because they’re common on this platform (they have their own 'tag’).
Being on this platform, I had to unlearn a lot to develop into the creative and writer that I am today — Medium and its writers has a role in both.
When joining Medium, writing an ‘About Me’ story didn’t come to mind, especially because I hadn’t established myself as a writer yet. Therefore, why would anyone care to read it? My thoughts on writing one has since changed.
If you’re a new writer and you don’t have a story idea, write an ‘About Me’ story, especially if you don’t have a writing niche. This is a great way to provide VALUE to your readers, while separating yourself from other Medium writers that write on the same topics as you.
