Major-Life-Update
After almost a year on life support with no signs of improvement, we have transitioned to hospice care. The hospice healthcare team expects he will pass away soon after extubation, scheduled for this Friday, July 12, 2024.
We have been advised to prepare the necessary arrangements. Upon inquiring about financial assistance for cremation and burial services, the hospice social worker managed to secure most of the funding through Friends of Hospice, leaving us responsible for the remaining balance, which can be settled this Friday or in the days following extubation.
As the day of extubation approaches, I am focusing my energy on mentally preparing for a meaningful time with my dad. Additionally, I will share a meaningful moment with him tomorrow during a video call for his 51st birthday.
I look forward to processing these complex emotions during my therapy session and then dedicating time to some self-care the day before extubation.
On this journey, I have gained a deeper understanding of myself and those around me…
