My Book Club Affirmed My ‘Higher Calling’
Late last year, I joined a book club and have experienced many firsts that I have documented here. I thought I would give a backstory on how I joined it and then share how it affirmed my ‘higher calling.’
The book club is a sisterhood, hence the name of our Facebook group, SisterHood, which was created by an up-and-coming YouTuber I watched and was introduced to through her brother’s channel, who is a full-time van-lifer with his cat. He eventually announced his sister’s channel, where she shows van life part-time, among other interests.
I find their content to be wholesome.
When she announced that she wanted to create a book club and make it available for all of us, I was undecided. However, it was one of the best decisions I could have made at that time.
Most of my free time has been spent on other interests, like the book club, due to changes made to Medium that affected my engagement and earnings.
Throughout the changes, I decided to stop writing for publications that either changed how they operated or no longer aligned with my values.
