Early on, I intended to write on how my short-lived experiences, seeking ASD & ADHD late-diagnoses as an adult last year led me to no longer continue with the process:
However, I needed time to process my feelings before I could write on them and offer some insight on the process.
Today, I came across an insightful post that compelled me to write on my short-lived experiences, seeking ASD & ADHD late-diagnoses as an adult:
Social media posts and literature on ASD & ADHD are what moved me to seek late-diagnoses as an adult. As I was interacting with these social media posts, I felt a sense of belonging and more compassion for myself — It was time for me to fully understand myself as the adult that I am today.
On December 5, 2022, I had a phone appointment (flaw in itself) with a psychologist to do an assessment for ASD. Towards the end of the phone call, I was told that a family member or someone that knew me closely, growing up would need to provide supporting information to continue on with the assessments — That took me by surprise!
