Initially, I hadn’t planned to write a three-part series on processing anticipatory grief; however, I’ve discovered it to be quite therapeutic as I deal with the complex emotions and experiences that come with a loved one’s end-of-life journey.

In “Processing Anticipatory Grief,” I discussed grappling with complex emotions and difficult decisions. In “Processing Anticipatory Grief — Part 2,” I shared that the emotional toll, coupled with the financial burden, was overwhelming and that I was proactive in seeking out resources and support, such as the 211 service and hospice social worker.

I found comfort and understanding within this community through their invaluable remarks on my past pieces. This has inspired me to keep sharing my journey, in the hope that it might resonate with someone. Indeed, it has, as I’ve connected with someone facing a similar ordeal.

As of now, most of the expenses for cremation or burial are taken care of, which alleviates some of my stress.
