“Significant Moments in Time”
I shared a memory of my grandma on Facebook, as her passing is still fresh in my mind.
I often find myself reminiscing about her during everyday moments, like when I’m in the parking lot where we used to chat. I would describe the sky to her, among other things, since she had moved away from Washington State, just to give her a sense of home.
Now, when I sit in that parking lot to unwind before shopping, our phone conversations come to mind.
Today, while making coffee, I thought of her. There were times when she would call as I was making coffee, and she would share her excitement about her own cup of coffee she had that day.
Chatting about coffee has always been a way to deepen a bond with me. For me, coffee has always represented conversation, connectedness, and community.
I felt it was significant to post about one of our phone conversations and the insights I gained from it, including the inspiration for the title of this piece.
I was making ☕ and thought of my grandma; it really puts into perspective how much you share with someone is now a shared experience or memory.
“What are you doing, Nay-Nay?”
