As creators, we pour our energy, time, and ideas into the work we love. We share pieces of ourselves with the hope that others will connect, engage, and meet us halfway. Sometimes they do; sometimes they do not.

I have noticed a pattern: people who actively seek me out—following my work, reading my stories, or joining spaces I contribute to—may acknowledge content casually. Yet they do not engage in ways that truly support creative contributions.

This is not about numbers or vanity metrics. It is about reciprocity and the life of our work. Engagement measures—claps, comments, shares, or other visible support—are more than the casual likes that often follow cross-shared posts. They help my content reach a wider audience and allow me to continue creating. They help preserve a creative legacy, one that reflects intention, energy, and care.

I have always been intentional in supporting others, offering thoughtful feedback, and amplifying work I value. But I have learned that giving is most meaningful when there is mutual recognition.

Support is not transactional—it is intentional. If you value a creator’s work, act in ways that sustain it. Your engagement is a gift. It keeps creators producing, keeps ideas alive, and strengthens the communities we all want to grow in.
