“Through Their Eyes, Through Mine”
Navigating What Others Think They Know
People often see only fragments of my life, the posts I share, the advice I offer, the light I try to cultivate, and from that they may assume a story, a smooth and easy life with clear answers.
The truth is quieter, messier. I go through the motions, processing it all, trying to move myself into better situations. My story is part of a bigger story, one that often involves others, so I share what I can without centering them, letting my experiences and reflections stand on their own.
I have met people online who assumed I lived a certain type of life, and at times I became a vessel for their own healing; often I feel rushed to tell my story or keep it hidden because of the idealization, which leads me to set boundaries or disconnect altogether.
If you feel similarly, remember this: your experiences are valid, your pace is yours to set, and it is okay to protect your story. You can offer insight, support, and light to others without giving away more than you are ready to share, and creating boundaries does not diminish your value or your impact. See people clearly, hold space for yourself, and trust that your perspective can guide and heal even when you do not reveal everything.
