I lay here to rest,
to put my mind at ease,
to lay old things to rest.

This world is heavy.
It fills the body,
the mind,
the heart.

But I feel my soul lift from my chest,
not as an escape,
but as a release
a weight dissolving into light.

It is not fear.
It is not pain.
It is something beautiful,
something whole,
a reminder that I am more than this body.

No attachments, only connections.
I wander without weight,
my soul and my mind learning again
what it means to be free.

And if I am ever called to leave this physical plane,
I will not be afraid.
I will be relieved.
Because I have carried it,
felt it,
breathed it out,
and now
I rise
I float
I am weightless.
